About HoburneIt’s not far off 100 years ago that John Burry, great-grandfather of Hoburne’s present Chairman, purchased Hoburne Farm which was Lot II in the sale of what was then known as ‘the Hubborn Estate’ on 7 th May 1912. The Hubborn area is first mentioned in the Domesday Book.
8 years later, in 1920, the same John Burry purchased Naish Farm, with its outstanding views over the Solent towards the Isle of Wight, and thereafter began the arrival of redundant railway carriages, shepherds’ huts and so on which were sited around the edges of the farm fields, and then skilfully converted by their proud owners into spacious and comfortable holiday homes.
The rest of the Group was created in the post second world war years, starting with Bashley in 1964, Grange Court (now Hoburne Torbay) in 1977, Cotswold in 1979, Blue Anchor in 1985, and finally Doublebois in 1986.
The Company’s policy has been one of continual reinvestment and improvement to provide the very highest standards in facilities, accommodation and service, at value for money prices. The Hoburne Experience
Let your children be enchanted by Hoburne’s very own Sammy Seahorse. At the special Sammy Squad events for 4-11 year olds during peak season in five of our parks, the kids can make new friends and have fun doing all kinds of activities – from sports and games to singing, dancing and talent shows. Plus of course, they may even get to see what happens when Sammy sprinkles that magic dust…
For the younger members 2010 sees the introduction of Tommy’s Tots, a special activity based adventure for the 1 – 4 year olds. Moms and Dads, bring along the little ones to experience activities such as colouring, finger painting and stories.
To give the kids a taster of the fun to be had, why not show them Sammy’s favourite games Bubble Blaster and Sammy’s Slides by selecting the links to the right (although you may want to have a quick play first – purely for research of course).
