Welcome to Driveline Golf – a fully bonded licence holder of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), Air Travel Organisers Licence 6229. We are also members of the International Association of Golf Tour Operators (IAGTO) and Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA) W7176.
We established The Company simply because, as keen golfers ourselves, we enjoyed our golfing holidays but became increasingly alarmed at;
a) The cost of playing golf overseas.
b) The trend towards slow rounds of golf at some resorts caused by overcrowded and poorly marshalled courses.
c) A decline in real value for money in some regions.
We believed there had to be other, undiscovered golf holiday and golf short break regions where we could find a good selection of quality local golf courses, good accommodation and great nightlife all at an affordable price. Rather than wait for others to do it, we set out to see if we could find them ourselves. It was not easy but in 1998 we launched our first programme of golfing holidays that included a number of fine hotels and golf courses. The response to our initial programmes encouraged us greatly and so it is with enormous pleasure that we present you with our current collection of golf holidays and short breaks.
In the short period of time we have been in business, we have been awarded ‘Best Golf Tour Operator’ by Eurotunnel and have been chosen by the Daily Telegraph to supply golf holidays to members of their National Golf Network. This year we have increased the number of featured golf courses in France and Belgium that make up our self-drive programme and we are also delighted to include golf holidays by scheduled air to some superb winter sun regions. Yet we have not forgotten that value for money is critical.
Some of the golf courses contained herein will probably be instantly recognised as household names; others are not so well known and hitherto have remained a secret to all but a lucky few. What you will not see is golf courses, hotels or regions that we simply cannot recommend either because they are not up to our required standards or because we feel they do not represent true value for money. Rest assured we have seen all those that have been included and if they were not up to scratch, they would not be on offer.
Our aim therefore, is straightforward; it is to offer a selection of charming overseas golf courses, each one selected to appeal according to your level of ability, be it scratch golfer or beginner. Furthermore we continue to look for new, emerging destinations and not simply concentrate on those that ‘every operator’ features.
